The Dreaded QuickTime Error 46: A Fix

So, one day you go to play this…

…and you get this!

error 46 mess.

And life has never been the same for you and some of  your favorite software that rely heavily on damn QuickTime.

So whadaya do?  You have absolutely zero patience for technical shit. You’ve already burnt all your bridges to your own personal IT Guy (long story), and Apple has no number to call for customer service to help you with what is apparently – from what I’ve been researching – their  problem.

So what DO you do? You do what any self-respecting non-technical computer owner does. Get on any and all forums you can and try to find similar lost souls who’ve maybe found a solution.

After months (yes, months!) of searching, I came upon the video below which offers what seems to be the simplest, quickest solution so far. And I’m all about that. The dude seems to know what he’s talking about (I say that only because he talks with a laid back take-it-or-leave-it attitude. Also a tech geek with a ‘good ‘ol boy’ southern accent is very intriguing to me.) so I’m going to go with his solution.

I’m posting this so you’ll know what happened if you don’t hear from me for a while…
