the Abandon

The Mayan prophecy predicts the world will have made a transformation during the Winter Solstice 2012. The Hopi believe the Blue Star Kachina had appeared in the skies during the Winter Solstice 2012 and brought an alien nation to Earth to introduce the Age of Purification. In the summer of 2012 five men went on an annual hiking trip. However, things changed drastically when they receive news of a global alien invasion. ‘The Abandon’ follows a group of friends who must navigate and survive a global alien invasion that has changed the world forever. They have two choices: focus on their individual survival or secure the longevity of the human race.

The creator of ‘The Abandon’, Keith Josef Adkins, who’s a former writer for the hit show ‘Girlfriends’, is describing the series as a sort of ‘The Walking Dead’ meets ‘Lost’.

His  plan is to bring his growing audience five more episodes in the first season and is currently prepping episodes 2 and 3 for release by this Fall. This is a unique scenario with its (practically) all black male cast performing in a science fiction thriller. And is this scifi geek thrilled!

The movie is being totally financed by donors, large and small, via a fundraising outfit called Indiegogo. Indiegogo is a crowdfunding platform where people who want to raise money can create fundraising campaigns to tell their story and get the word out.  And joining is free!

Adkins is still in the process of raising funds to, as he puts it, “help pay and feed our actors, get top-notch marketing and PR, and secure the best production crew possible.”
